Due to the limited quantity of 12- and 16-tone SELCAL codes, duplicate SELCAL code assignments to multiple active aircraft must be expected by all SELCAL users. Aviation Spectrum Resources Inc. (ASRI) makes no assurances that any SELCAL code issued previously, now, or in the future, will be unique to the aircraft it is assigned. All users of SELCAL codes must operate in accordance with the guidance specified in the ICAO Convention on International Aviation*, verifying the end user employs proper voice identification procedures to confirm any communication received is intended for the recipient.

By requesting service from ASRI to issue a SELCAL code to you, your company, or organization, you agree on behalf of yourself, your company or organization that you have read and understood the information provided in this statement, and will indemnify, defend and hold ASRI and its affiliates, members, directors, officers, shareholders, employees, representatives, agents, attorneys, and successors, harmless from and against any and all claims, liabilities, obligations, judgments, causes of action, costs and expenses arising from, out of or related to the use of any new or existing SELCAL code worldwide.

*Annex 10, Vol. II, Paragraph 5.2.4.1.1 – 'Due to the limited number of SELCAL codes, similar code assignments to multiple aircraft may be expected. Therefore, the use of correct radiotelephony (RTF) procedures contained in this chapter is emphasized when establishing communications via SELCAL.'
